Fremont, California, has 5 city parks, including Lake Elizabeth which is less than a mile from Pathfinder Village. It's an ideal spot for hiking, biking, swimming, picnicking and even golfing. Also within a short distance is the Quarry Lakes recreation area, where you can swim, fish, boat, kayak and canoe.
